Goals
- Short-term:
- Earn my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
- Find extracurricular opportunities that meld my interests in humanities and healthcare
- Restart regularly writing for my blog and looking for publication opportunities
- Long-term:
- Complete a residency in an area of interest, and, eventually, go on to practice medicine
- Pursue a higher-education program in narrative medicine or medical humanities (e.g. Columbia University’s M.S. in Narrative Medicine)
- Involve myself in academia while continuing to practice medicine (e.g. teaching narrative medicine principles in a medical school or teaching medical humanities in a literature department)
- Write and publish a novel or work of non-fiction
